Garuda Dandakam by Acharya Vedhantha Desika, Durga Suktham aned Bhoo Suktham

My friend Sri Aravamudhan, son of a great Sanskrit Scholar,Sri Srinivasa Iyengar, from whom I learnt the rudiments of Sanskrit, renders the slokas at my request.

1. Garuda Dandakam composed by Acharya Vedhantha Desika.
2. Durga Suktham.
3. Bhoo Suktham
.

Listen to the above on all Fridays. Be Blessed by Lord Venkateswara and Goddess Durga and Goddless Bhooma Devi (Goddess of Mother Earth)

By reciting of Garuda Dandakam, it is said that evil forces are warded off.

As a bonus, "Shriman Narayana" a song rendered by Smt.Sudha Raghunathan in the Raag Bhouli is also attached.

I am Shiva ! I am Shiva !

The objective world that the senses perceive covers or envelopes(and super imposed )

Atman. It is in our
false perception that we perceive this world as the real one just as in

darkness, a rope is perceived
as a snake. The intelligent amongst us apply reasoning and through a process

of constant
discrimination realise the non existence of this world apart from Atman

The wise really know that all that exist and can exist is nothing but Brahman

. That there exists nothing but Brahman is true for both the wise as well as

the ignorant of the existence of Brahman. But the ignorant (one who has not

started an effort to cleanse the Atman of the Upaadis covering the same)

believe in the names and forms and therefore for him, the see the world

enveloping him as real, in the place of Brahman.

Oh Shirdi Baba ! Bless TRC to visit Shirdi

It so happened that I visited Mylapore Shirdi Baba temple a couple of days ago. Never imagined that there will be a prayer like this in TRC 's blog and I shall accompany him to this Great Abode of Heaven.

A Prayer for the New Year 2008

His Holiness Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji
Prays
for all of Us.

Oh Lord—
A humble prayer I have unto Thee!
Make this land a peaceful garden!
Let the breeze of divinity blow here always
Let the flowers of humanity blossom here always
Let the music of love be heard here always
Let none be denied of your bountiful grace.
Forgive our ignorance, forgive our sins
Keep us away from vices and ills
Show us the way and guide us in the path
That is best for us and pleases You the most
To make this a reality, a dream come true
A humble prayer I have unto Thee!
Make us chant the Mahamantra always.
Keep it on our lips for ever and ever.
